OT: Lunar Eclipse

in North America. Bright full moon at 7:00 pm... nearly fully shaded right now.... and by midnight will be back bright!

Reminds me of a song I used to sing to my sons when they were little...

"Oh Mr. Moon... Moon.... Bright and shiny moon.... Won't you please shine down on me!"

This is the last total lunar eclipse in North America for about 2 years! Enjoy!!

DH and Yogi were headed outside to see the eclipse. I yelled at them to get back in the house until they got that satellite shot down. You just have to watch men all the time; they're not very careful. Polly

We put huge roof skylights in our cape cod style house for the purpose of watching the sky without having to go outside...there are two in the master bedroom and one in the spare bedroom/sewing room....I've been sitting here working on the baby quilt for my co-worker and gazing up at the eclipse. It is just lovely!

bother, missed it, and we had a totally clear sky, so if I'd have known I'd have seen it and it would have been a perfect time for the kids to see it as totally was 7 something on the west coast, eclipse over by

9.09pm and it's now 10.09. Silly me.

I set my alarm clock for 2:45 am to watch it - totality began at 3:01 am and ended 50 minutes later. But there was thick cloud cover and nothing to see. The next total eclipse visible in Britain will be in about 7 years, so I'm sorry to have missed this one.
