OT my visit w/ wolves

Hey, group! Remember at Christmastime, when I announced that DH bought me an "Adopt-a-wolf" sponsorship? I went and did the interaction yesterday!!! OMG It was sooo cool, neat, fun, breath-taking!!! I didn't get to meet the wolf I sponsored, but I got to meet the rest of the pack!!! That was 5, yes 5 wolves!! I have about 50 pics, which we will put on Webshots this weekend. I got kisses, I got to give belly rubs to the one mellow girl, I got jumped on a lot- one wouldn't quit and had to be disciplined by the staff and the alpha wolf. That was the best part- the alpha male came and loved on me. The staff wasn't sure if he would, and even if he did come up, they thought that a couple of the younger males would become,....brats will work I guess. but they all behaved, except for the one. I got to spend and hour and a half with them, and it was the best! I can also go back and do it again!!! The photographer told me to wait till late October, then maybe Ayla (my wolf) would cooperate better. So, that's what I'll do! And, yes, I already have plans for a wolf quilt, but that will have to wait till after the first of the year. I am still looking for some fabric. No, nothing special, but one of those that will flow with the rest and ones I just fall in love with. Plus, I need DH's help with the quilting motif I want to use. Toni

I think one of my neighbors was raised by wolves. Any chance you would consider adopting her? Polly

Isn't it fantastic when the reality meets or exceeds our expectation?

Whenever I go to Busch Gardens, up the road in Williamsburg, I like to visit the area where about 4 wolves are housed. They are interesting to watch.

Not sure about where you are at... School starts on the 16th. My youngest is at his sisters today, so as soon as my oldest decides he needs to get his backside to a job he is thinking about taking (my son in law is considering hiring him) I will have the house to myself for the day. I can't wait!! I love my oldest but Monday needs to get here and so he will go back to his place in West Texas .... lol.... I want my house to myself again!

How wonderful, Toni! I'm delighted that it all went so well and that you'll get to go back and try again with Ayla. :)

I know what you mean, Barbara! My DDs don't come very often, now that they have their own families, but they do send the DGSs over rather more regularly than I'd counted on. There are times that I just want *quiet* and *solitude*!

17 more days here until I put the oldest on the bus and spend the morning filling out forms for the youngest to go once a week

Larisa, no, I'm not anxious to have the house back (pretty much) to myself, not at all!!

What a wonderful opportunity. The photos should be something, and it will be an experience to treasure.

Toni thats sounds wonderful. I've always had a soft spot for wolves. Probably cos we never meet them here in Oz. Looking forward to the photos Heather in West Oz

I assumed from the subject that it was going to be an account of your visit with in-laws. Glad to see it was a Good Time instead!

I'm jealous of your close encounter of the wolf kind.
