OT Need help for cat treat gifts!

My friend and dog trainer has two indoor cats. I ordered some fancy-schmancy steak treats for her dogs, but am stumped for an idea of what to order for her cats. Like me, her pets are beloved family members and she is delighted when her pets are remembered at Christmas. Does anybody know an online business with some classy-ish cat treats that I can order? TIA (BTW her pets are all QIs even tho Susan doesn't quilt. She has several quilts that I made and her critters enjoy them and take their "second-hand" QI responsibilities quite seriously!)

I guess I should have explained further- I just had surgery and am not up to shopping or making treats or toys. I just need to find cat treats I can order online and have delivered. But thanks for the tips.... I can use them next year.

Leslie, I just strained my head trying to remember what were the special things for our Sweet Pea. He was rawthur disdainful of 'common' cat toys but was simply dippy about red silk long-stemmed roses. You would really have to know the kittys well to choose a 'just right' gift - but, methinks, it certainly would be the thought that counts. I'm sure your friend will be delighted with whatever you have sent. One new thing I've seen in the gift catalogs is LED collars for cats. I'm not sure what it might be like to have the QIs blinking in the night but it might be fun. Or terrifying. Polly

Oh dear Polly, if you figure this one out, please DO explain it for me.

Velcro, the black post-Rita rescue kitty...... loves silk flowers too! It drives me absolutely mad when she takes my flower arrangements apart! Or even more so when I find teeth holes in the silk leaves!

This week, there are fresh red roses and evergreen sprigs in all the vases in the house. Now she has knocked over 2 vases and dumped water everywhere, trying to remove the roses from the vases!

Why, oh why, do my animals all think they are ABOVE animal toys and must only play with things that belong to their humans????????

Hugs, Tina

Maybe sprinkle cinnamon on them? No idea if it repels kitties, but it works fine against ants. Roberta in D

I don't know, Roberta. That might start even more trouble. Imagine DH chewing on the roses. Men do love cinnamon, you know. Polly

Cayenne red pepper. sprinkle a little on the table around the vase, and a little on the roses themselves. I had this problem with my Persian. He got very good at pulling just one at a time out of the vase. However,. DO NOT attempt to smell the roses after putting pepper in them. I forgot I'd done this, and took a nice deep smell --sneezed for about an hour. Not fun. The pepper doesn't seem to affect the cats this way. They just don't like the smell and leave the flowers alone. Pepper also works on silk flowers. Gen

From a cat's point of view, EVERYTHING belongs to the cat, and humans are there only as support staff. The cat is probably sick and tired of you messing with its silk flowers that it has so carefully arranged, complete with artistic bite marks. ;-)

I have a large shrub in a pot on each side of my main entrance door. In each is a metal spike holding a sign.

On the left - "Spolit cats live here"

On the right - "Dogs have masters; cats have slaves"

Actually my cats are all very good. I teach them early that inside the house is my territory and outside is their's. They can go pretty much anywhere inside EXCEPT on kitchen benches and on tables. I have left warn BBQ chickens on my kitchen bench and the cats have done no more than sit on the floor salivating longingly. I would not put money on their actions if I wasn't in the house for any length of time and the chicken was left there (lol) but since that is never going to hapen . . . .

They also know to take any disputes outside. They get along well most times but if they do have a spat - I only have to say "OUT" in that special tone of voice and all three shoot out the cat door and sort out their problems before coming back inside.
