And others. Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday. Be sure to read Green Eggs and Ham. And the appropriate tune to have buzzing around in your head should, of course, be that song from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It goes " nah tume doh ray, nah tume doh ray. Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss and enjoy the melody. Polly

Sorry, Polly, your evil plan won't work because I don't know the song. :-)

Would this be 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch"? That song little kids sang while hunching their shoulders, making little mean, scrunchy faces, little hands on their hips and taking big, long striding steps around the house while singing it over and over and over.......and over....

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch You really are a heel You're as cuddly as a cactus You're as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch

That one? This one?

Our twins were able to communicate with each other quite handily and were not particularly interested in being able to speak any language familiar to the rest of us. We especially had a hard time getting them to speak an 'F' when beginning to talk. The entire family can recite the Foot Book, Fox in Socks and One Fish, Two Fish. Thank you to Dr. Seuss who made learning just plain fun. And to you quilters who are needing a shove to get out of your comfort zone, there's always the beloved Green Eggs and Ham. We can recite that one too if you need to hear it. Polly

Fox in Socks used to be a fun party read. Just try it with a bunch of people and a drink or two...

When my son's friends started having babies he always bought them several Dr. Seuss books. We had not discussed Dr. Seuss in many years but all the sudden the entire family was sitting around quoting their favorite books. Wish I could remember as many Bible verses as I do Dr Seuss lines.

Part of a line comes through my head, Susan, that I can't quite fill in the blanks or the source. Something about on the way to Lollapalooza where there weren't any ........ at least very fewsah. Where in Seuss does that come from? Polly
