OT: Prayers for family

This morning there was a house fire a couple of blocks down from me. I don't know the extent of the damage at this time, but it doesn't look good. It was said that no one of the family of 5 was home when it started, so they are all safe. It also sounds like at least some of the pets were saved by firefighters. If you could, please keep this family in your prayers.

How awful. I always think about that when I head out leaving my precious HairyButts home alone. I could lose the house and my stuff- even my stash- and be okay. But to lose my 'furry children'..... that would be so difficult.

I hope the family will be able to gather their life back together and that all their pets were saved. Prayers being sent out for them from MO.

I agree, Leslie. I look at all the objects I've collected over the years and their value pales in comparison to my family (which my Buddy is a part of, of course!!).

I waited for the longest time in adopting a furry child ... knowing that they live oh, such short lives was a truth that I just didn't know if I could handle. I finally decided that it was better to love now and lose later, than never love at all. And even though my poor Budster is aging (his poor little face is nearly all grey now!), I've never regretted it. He will not live forever, but the least I can do is make his short life as happy as possible and make sure that he knows he's loved!!

They home is a total loss. This is a difficult time for them I'm sure. Thanks for the prayers everyone. Even though they don't know you are praying for them, I'm sure they are feeling them. I'm going to try to whip up quilts for the family, so we'll see just what I can come up with.
