Couple of questions

I am looking into the ebay stores option as opposed to the regular listings. I've noticed that some of you here use it and wondered if you could answer some questions about it that I have. From reading the ebay material, it sounds like if someone goes on ebay and searches, say for tiger glass beads, they will not be linked to anyones store item, only the regular listings. Does someone have to search stores seperately? Or, can they even? If someone doesn't know me, how would they stumble upon my beads?

Also, when they list things for 30 days......until sold, do they run it and relist it weekly? Is it only until you get one bid, like buy it now?

Thanks in advance, any recommendations or experiences are welcome, through newsgroup or email.

I'll try to answer your questions. I've had my eBay store for several months now.

You are right, they won't stumble upon your beads if they are in the store unless they do a search by stores. A normal search won't list any store items. What I do is always have auctions up and you get a lot of traffic back to your store that way.

I also have my items cross-promoted (free) and that get's you seen with regular auctions as well.

30 days until sold means that you will be charged every 30 days for a new listing. Your item doesn't go away until you End GTC Listing.

The store items are buy it nows only. Set your price accordingly.

But I have seen stores listed on the side that have what you searched for in them. But they are not listed in the "search" listings.

I'm not sure what you mean Valerie. I was saying if you go to search, click on stores, and then do your search you will see the listings.

I mean if I search for "glass beads" and I see the usual listings, the stores that have glass beads will be on the left hand side next to the regular auctions, on the sidebar.

Too true. At first you will get a tiny box searching for glass beads. There are 115 pages of stores though. I never even saw that box and I've been using eBay since my 16 year old was little.
