OT - Thank you for the lovely blocks!

Thank you quilters in Canada, Germany, the UK and Australia!

Thank you for sending me a parcel of lovely patchwork blocks. Mark and I are impressed with the workmanship, and the kind thoughts that everyone must have put into making blocks for us. We love the train, the cat, the boats, the fish, the birds, the 9-patches, the rainbow kangaroo... They?re all lovely! I just need to find a nice fabric for sashing, and I can have a nice little quilt put together. Thank you for thinking of us, and for making such lovely blocks for Tristan. You?re all very kind!

I walked down the road today to a "mums and babies" group that meets weekly on Thursday morning in St. Leonard's church hall. Tristan was the youngest child there by a month, and didn't really bother with the other babies (who, at 7 and 8 months, look enormous beside him). He did enjoy looking at adult faces and the brightly colored posters on the wall. We came home and napped for nearly 2 hours. Then an American woman I met in an antenatal class, Carrie, came by the house with her baby Molly, who is one week older than Tristan, and I gave her a baby gym for "tummy time" activities (I have been given 2 of them). We plan to meet up at the weekend and take our babies to Cambo to see the millions of snowdrops that are blooming there. I remember it was such a lovely walk last year and the last outing we had before I became pregnant.... we thought it would be nice to go back with the little one and enjoy a sunny walk in the snowdrops, with his new wee friend.

So there you have it, two social occasions for us in one day. Tristan is a much happier baby now that we sorted out his constipation at Ninewells yesterday. What a relief. 8 days of fussing and crying, not feeding terribly well and not sleeping that well were taking their toll on all of us! Hopefully he'll have another good night of sleep, like last night. Here's hoping....

Yours, Jo, Mark and Tristan
