Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I sit here writing this with tears rolling down my cheeks.

When I got home this evening I could see two boxes sitting on my porch and I thought they were the books I had ordered from eBay and the DVD's I had ordered from Amazon (the bigger box was an Amazon box). When I got to the porch and saw Sandy/Ragmop's return address I had a suspicion what might be in the box.

I never dreamed I would be a recipient of an RCTQ Hug Quilt. All you wonderful, beautiful people - the quilt is wonderful and beautiful. The love you all put into my Hug Quilt will help me through many a lonesome evening this winter and for winters and years to come. No one can really know how much a Hug Quilt means until you receive one.

Next Monday will be the 4th month anniversary of Wayne's death and I still can't believe he's gone. He was the youngest of five and all of his family - siblings, parents and grandparents have lived into their 80's and early 90's. His oldest sister was 90 in September, but Wayne was gone from us at only 75.

Words really can't express how much my Hug Quilt and all of you mean to me except to say . . . .

I love you all.

Wow. That is ten kinds of beautiful.

I look forward to building up my confidence and stash to the extent that I feel that I can contribute to these HUGs. Donna, I hope this one will be a daily joy to you. I don't see how such a beautiful thing from such beautiful people could fail to be a comfort.

So glad you love it and its warm wishes (I wasn't part of this project). Sandy, you have done a beautiful job of design and quilting and everyone else who donated a block - you are truly special folk. Cheers Bronnie

So glad the Hug will help you, in the long evenings especially. Nothing will make the pain go away completely, but this much love must surely help. Take care, Donna. . In message , Donna in Idaho writes

Usually I want to pull my chair closer to the monitor so I can sit here and ahhhh for a long while. This Hug makes me want to reach in and touch it. What a sweet and delightful creation; just says love all over. Donna, I hope you'll have lots of little folks to share your Hug with through the years; Turtle Creek is a treasure. We love you. Polly

Hi Sandy. Thanks for the link, and thanks for taking our humble offerings and putting them together so well. That is one very cool quilt. I am amazed to see such an 'arty' quilt emerge from the collection of donations from all over the globe. Pat in Virginia

Edna: Any one of us is welcome to participate in any hug quilt project. There is no 'test' to pass! Some of the blocks are complex, but many are rather simple, some are even just a plain square of material; each contribution is an expression of support and friendship. So, if you get the urge, go ahead and join. (First you'd need to ask the hug meister to put your name on the notification list. I think that is Kate in Michigan.) TTFN, Pat in Virginia

Donna, as a HUG recipient myself I know exactly what you mean. Who would have thought that bits of fabric sewn together by kind folks you've never met face-to-face could hold so much love and warmth? And the best part is, it never goes away!! You can feel that love and warmt everytime you wrap yourself up in it.
