OT: thanks

I am tardy!!

Wanted to say thank you for the birthday squishie and E Card. Once again proving how timely they are. My tardy excuse is helath. Spent Thurs. evening in the ER. Any good hints onf relief for migraines?

The squishies was bright red and so cheery it lifted my spirits and the car was great.

I am now 70 and grateful to have made it this long.

Thank you, thank you both.

Anna Belle, I'm sorry to hear of your stint in the ER! My doctor prescribed meds for my migraines - they work great. It took about 4 tries to get the right one but this med always does the trick. Only downside is it makes me a little sleepy but I prefer that to a imploded head any day; I just make sure I don't drive or operate heavy machinery (like a sewing machine ?? LOL) after I take it.

Good luck!

Piggy backing here: Anna Belle, Both DS and I have prescriptions for AXERT. The majority of the time it only takes ONE pill at the very first signs of one and we're 'back to normal'. I have had them so bad that I've gotten shots in the back of my head. Now I get a shot of Taramadol (sp) and Compazine in the Dr's office if the Axert doesn't work (limit 2 pills). Find I get them in times of HIGH Stress or from certain smells.

I take Maxalt-MLT (TM) for severe headaches. One tablet under the tongue usually does it for me. One nice thing about Maxalt is that you don't have to take it at the first sign of a headache. I have a lot of headaches and not all of them get real bad, and I never can tell which ones will get bad; with Maxalt I can wait to see if it gets bad.

Interesting, smells is one of my triggers. First I have had for years. Had both of the drugs you mentioned at ER and then a shot of Morphine. All by IV so they would act fast. Also got a scrip for a pain pill.
