OT: this weekend

I know you are probably all getting sick of these posts, but since i can't quilt yet, I figured I'd update you.

This weekend I put together my sewing room!!! I have to install 2 more pieces of casing over the doors and paint about 8' of baseboard, but other than that, it's ALL done!!!

I have to clean off the sewing area and do a littlemore straightening before i kick it back into gear, but I'm oh so much closer!! DH really likes it, but says it's a girls room, and he won't come in willingly...lol

Oh well...will get pictures taken and online as soon as i find the time

- tomorrow is a trip to the DMV if i can find it to get VA license and plates for the minivan...thinking of personalized ones "MAMAVANN"..what do you all think?? :-)

Larisa, still covered in paint and desperately needing a shower.....more boxes to unpack and put away, DH needs to insulate and wall the garage and bonus room (at least before the weather turns)

You have accomplished quite a bit in such a short time. I hope this house now feels like "Home". Linda in Tx

Larisa-

You purely wear me out when I read your posts! LOL You are the hardest working gal I have ever known- wish I had some of your ambition and drive. Glad to hear your new home is all coming together for you and you're getting settled in. ;-)

In MO we only get 7 letters/numbers for license plates. I think your idea is really cool.

Just a thought.

Leslie - we are only allowed to have 7 letters as well, so I have to figure something else out. Lady offered to give me "momvann", have to think a bit more. Also, they have so many options for plates down here...I asked if there wa anything for sewing or quilting and she said she had just seen something and that she would check. Well, it isn't in the computer yet, but it is on the list for futre release....I'll just hang in here for a bit...it's a Virginia Quilters license plate . Still trying to figure out if I will personalize that or just stay with the quilter plates.

How 'bout MAMAVAN??? It still gets the message across and uses the seven letters allowed!

thought about it...still thinking...but besides that, I can finally get my sewing machine set back up!!!!

Sorry, all artwork is up, sewing area relatively cleaned up (think: things shoved in closets and drawers for the time being) and I can start sewing tomorrow if I choose to . Will probably get the box of linens upstairs where it belongs and empty it out, but then I'm going to tidy this place up....there is a shelf that was alreayd here adn it is piled with things I couldn't find a place for. Also have to chisel a bit of baseboard out since it is already nailed in place...apparently measuring 3 times doesn't always work...this time, it was too long instead of too short.....sheesh

Larisa, who also has to find the vent covers and clean or repaint them

We have some interesting ones up here in ME -- How 'bout "KWILTER" if "QUILTER" has been taken already? ME-Judy

Every month, when I go to the guild meeting, I notice some really clever vanity plates promoting quilting, in the parking lot. Larisa will have to be really, really lucky to get one that has not already been taken here in Virginia.

There is a promotion going on right now to get enough people to commit to buying a quilting theme plate. It would be $10 extra per year, plus the normal fee. Special vanity plates would be another $10 on top of that.

I don't have vanity plates. I'm too frugal ... IMO the extra money for the vanity plate or theme plate would be better spent on chocolate, or fabric, or books! ;)

Pat - the lady aththe DMV even looked through the list for me to see if the quilter plate was slated for release...apparently they haven't quite gotten enough people to sign up for it yet....she offered to reserve it for me...I got the cardinal plate instead (not personalized). Still undecided if i will get a personalized plate or not...

Howdy! The wonderful people who drive the other black PT Cruisers in this area can fill the parking lots w/ nearly-matching vehicles; I appreciate going out there and finding my own black beauty by looking for PT QLTR .
