OT tiny QI safety

A hungry BIG bird tried to carry off Yogi. Yogi has two puncture wounds from the bird's claws and some torn/ripped skin but the vet says he is doing fine. Terrified us. Yogi seems okay; isn't even playing the sympathy card (which he does very well). As with your children, you try to protect them from everything but you just really can't. Don't know if the bird was an eagle, hawk, monster-size owl; all of those are around. We nearly never let Yogi out unless we go with him. I guess we won't do that again. May start carrying a bazooka. Don't know how to fire one but we could learn. On guard. Polly

That is scary Polly. I am so glad Yogi is ok. Years ago lilly cat was sitting on the window sill and a hawk didn't realize the glass was there and tried to get her. DS watched and was pretty amazed. They usually get sparrows but once in awhile they go for more. You all be safe and give Yogi an extra hug from here. Taria

Glad to hear Yogi is okay, and bet that bird found something else to snack on. We know you will be watching for infection.

Oh... my... gosh! My heart is still pounding just from reading about Yogi's misadventure. I hope he heals well and quickly and The HairyButt Gang sends their best wishes for you and Mr. Esther to recover from the fright.

So sorry to hear about Yogie and the bird. Here in FL we live close to 2 ponds with medium size alligators. There are signs stating "Do Not Feed the Alligators" and "Do NOT walk your pets close to the pond." Each year I remind someone about the alligators. And we also have eagles, owls, and hawks. And sometimes the two bears come around! It's a scary world out there! I watch out for Reese and he is 23 pounds! Barbara in FL

Now, Pat. That's funny. Anti-aircraft defences indeed. LOL. Polly

We didn't see the attack. Sometimes when we're out front with Yogi, he'll take a notion to race down the side of the motorhome building and take a field trip out in the back yard. He can't climb the fence or open the gate so we thought it was probably okay. Not. Yogi and I thank you for your well-wishes. He's apparently unconcerned and my heart will quit racing in a month or two. Polly
