has anyone ever tried....

Hi gang! I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried shutterfly.com or snapfish.com for their photo processing? I saw shutterfly.com on DIY Scrapbooking today and thought I would look at it. I had so many photos I needed to get developed that I didn't think I was going to be able to afford getting all of them. When I went to their website, you could get 15 prints free and the rest were 19cents a piece which is better than the 29cents I usually pay at Target (then take off my employee discount). I uploaded and sent in an order and was able to get about 30 prints plus 2 5x7's for 6.94 (with tax). Then I remembered a site I had seen before called snapfish.com. Their prices were even better! 20 prints free and 12cents a print. So, at the end of the day.....almost....I was able to get all of the photos on my camera printed today. I just have to wait for them to come in the mail now. I hope at least one set arrives here before Friday so I can work on them at my crop night!

I use Snapfish regularly. The price is great 12 cents a print and they offer true digital prints. I will take this opportunity to caution you however about having pictures downloaded locally and printed at your local walgreens. It took them 4 tries and 3 days and you are charged the Walgreen rate which is considerably higher. It really sin't worth the agravation. If you need your prints in an hour, just go to Walgreens with your little photo card and do it there.

However if you do have time, snapfish is cheap and quick. Send your photos in on Friday and you will likely have them in your hands by Tuesday. At least that has been my expereince.

I use webshots and photoworks.com to order prints. Whomever has the better special. I usually order on Friday and have it by Wednesday in the mail. I ordered over 350 prints one time and it was only less then $50..... pretty good for me!

I have heard of both of those but have never used them. I have uploaded my digital photos to CVS.com and picked them up the next day in my local store!! . They have a special right now going on. If you order more than 40 prints, they are only 19cents each. Regular price is 29 cents.you can do it online, or take the memory card to the store and do it there on the Kodak machine. I guess I am too impatient to wait on home delivery..LOL

I was wondering about the Walgreens printing. Thanks for the info!!!

I use Snapfish as my main printer. Until recently I have loved the fast service I got from Snapfish. Just recently I had an incedent though...

I ordered pictures and they never came. Usually I received the prints within a week or two. So after about 5 weeks I e-mailed them to let them know that I had not received them. Snapfish was quick to respond and said they would reprint and mail them again (at no charge). Of course there was a hurrincane in the middle of the first 5 weeks so I thought maybe they were lost due to the hurricane. Well after a couple of days I received my first order.. the one that was lost. They had already sent out the second set so they couldn't just stop the second order. The interesting thing is I received the second set about 4 weeks later. Soooo yes they do have good customer service to send out a new set free of charge with barely any questions asked. (I do a lot of business with them so I would hope they would do this) I am scared to order again though. It seems the shipping time has increased a ton. I usually need the prints for some project so 4 weeks is just to long to wait. Has anyone else noticed an increase in the amount of time to receive prints? JW

Thanks for listening, sorry it was so long.

Well, yesterday I made orders with shutterfly and snapfish, shutterfly first though. Snapfish has already sent me an email out that my order has been processed and shipped. I still haven't received an email from shutterfly though letting me know my order was shipped although their site said they usually send out orders within one business day from when the order was submitted. Did it take a few weeks from the time you placed the order or from when you were notified that your order was shipped? I was so hoping that I might get these photos in time for my crop Friday night but sounds like I might not.
