OT: Update on surgery and thanks to all

As you all know I had my eye surgery last Friday and although it was very painful and I could not see for rest of the day, it is now over and the eye seems to be clearer than the other eye now. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday and will find out how successful it was and also when my next surgery will be done on the other eye. Now just because it is successful now does not mean it can't change in the future, but I would like to encourage everyone of you, no matter what your age is to know the pressure number in your eyes. I can remember when they said that glaucoma didn't strike until around the age of 40, I am here to tell you that my pressures were high when I was 25 years old and now at 52 I am gradually losing my eye sight. So as they say with Cholesterol and Triglycerides know your numbers, I encourage each of you to know your numbers for your pressure in your eyes. I also want to encourage you to also know what your blood glucose runs on a regular basis, both fasting and 2 hours after eating a meal. My fasting was normal for years, but my 2 hour was awful but because of the normal fasting I was not diagnosed until 2004.

I also want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes and the thoughts and prayers for my surgery.

I will get caught up I have over 1000 posts to read and I will get it done. I don't often skip a post because sometimes hidden within one is something I might need to know in the future.

So glad it all went well for you. I just had a 'field vision test' when I went to a new optician recently. The pressure was fine, but this was an extra test they can do if there is any doubt in their minds. So, it really was a good birthday present. . In message , Jacqueline writes
