OT: Work starts Monday!!!!

The last bits and pieces have fallen into place. Money is in the bank. Contractor chosen. References checked. Dog boarding appointment made. Wow .... I'm the happiest woman on earth.

Oh, I wanted to let you guys all know one little bitty thing that may make you all smile: I have recently made a small donation in honor of RCTQ to a fund for premature babies at our local hospital. It helps low-income moms buy what the tiniest ones need so they can really and truly feel like moms. Looks like I'm going to be making a few very special, very tiny quilts for going-home day, too. I spent a month watching my oldest through the side of a NICU bassinet. I have a special feeling in my heart for all who walk through those doors.

Hugs, Sunny

That's great news, Sunny. We're all happy for you, it will be so nice to know you have running water and operational drains at your house.

Making baby things is one of the happiest things there is to do, such a wonderful thing for you to be planning.

What wonderful news, Sunny. And how wonderful it will be for you to have running water again! It's amazing how much we depend on it and never give it a second thought until it's not working...!

And, How sweet of you to make that donation in honor of the group!

Excellent news!

Horrid, starting like that, isn't it...

Mind you, my (then) cherub only only spent a week in the SCBU and was born on his due day at eight and a half pounds! He just emptied himself and then tried to down in the resultant mess! Result: a week of antibiotics in the SCBU and a week of rest for me! ;)

But I saw those anxious mums and dads with their tiny ones, and a friend had a neice born to her kidney transplant sister who had severe pre-eclampsia and who's baby was induced to save both at 28 weeks. Years later that little one is doing well and bright as a button.

Good luck with the tiny quilts and stuff. It's a hard time for all the family when this happens.

Sunny,

As the mom to a NICU graduate, I know those mothers appreciate everything they can get that helps them feel support and love as they struggle with the stress and ordeal their littles are going through.

Thank you so much on behalf of all of them.
