Ping Kate in Mi - Butterfly wallhanging

Kate Don't think you saw my post on this as you were busy a week back. Repeated here if that was the case!

G'day Kate Just saw your comment in my webshots album about the challenge quilt I made last month. It came this "II" close to getting a prize! [two fingers almost touching]. quilting let me down evidently :( Firstly, the centre fabric I bought online about 6 mths ago when the US dollar had almost parity with the Aussie dollar and I thought I would treat myself to an order for 6 or so .5 yds (not buying for a specific project is v. unusual for thrifty me LoL) This one I loved and bought one yard. It says on the selvege - Floragraphix II Jason Yenter for 'In the Beginning' fabrics '08. Might have been from equilter.com Not a panel as such; pattern goes across the bolt twice. I looked at the material trying to dream up a quilt. Cut a rectangle out and then trialled some border fabrics before choosing the Ricky Tims. Vlisofixed black homespun and cut out the black plants mirroring the pattern. You know the rest - sandwich, quilt. Attached five little butterflies from pretty lame with some gold thread. Wavey edge came to me, when I thought, come on Bron, go outside the square for a change! So pleased you love it. Maybe it will become a special gift for a friend when I get it back from the show. Oh, size is about 55x70cm Cheers Bronnie Here's the link again:

Thanks.... It is such a beautiful quilt. I wish I had more of a "creative" brain. Seems I can only work from patterns for the most part... I just can't visualize things to know what works unless I see them first.

I just love seeing all the beautiful things others create.

And as far as I'm concerned.... I think you should have won!
