Quilt in a day

I can't get her shows on our PBS channels. I directly credit her for my starting to quilt. See, it's all HER fault! But she has again put some videos on her website, for anyone who might want to know. Singsong, kindegarten voice and all - I just love her!

I've never had a class from her, but I've watched lots of her TV shows and seen her do "quickie" presentations in Houston. She's a real kick, isn't she? And her patterns go together so easily. :)

I have to say that she's the one who got me hooked too. I signed up for a basic quilting class, did a Turning 20, then joined a "Block of the Month" that was out of her Egg Money book. I'm not good at written instructions, and even I had no problem figuring it out. (well, mostly not). I was a lots better quilter after going through each block of that book. I've still never actually DONE a quilt in one day though. :-)

My first bed sized quilt was one of hers. The double Irish chain. So she helped get me hooked as well. But like Sherry, it took me way longer than a day to do that quilt.

When did you sneak back in? its soooooooooooooo good to see you again. How are things going? Missed you

Butterfly (Did a double take when I saw your name--it always reminds me of an 'aunt' that taught me the finer points of crocheting)

Thanks for the tip! I just looked at the programming tonight, and lo and behold, there it was at 11:30, and the topic tonight is "Jewel Box" (??) I wish I'd caught the Victory Quilt series. I bought the book but haven't yet tried any of the blocks. Sherry

you have to admit, she's been "responsible" for many-a-quilter's start! she was my inspiration in the 80's to re-start. gotta love Eleanor!
