Ghost Layer Quilt

Every once in a while, I mosey on over to HGTV and see which Simply Quilts shows are available at:

One of the "channels" available on the left hand side today is "Ghost Layer Quilt" with Katie Pasquini Masopust. This is a very interesting technique, which I have not seen before this. Has anyone here tried it?

I see that she has written more recent books and has a video at:

She has some rather gorgeous quilts in her gallery!!!! Pure eye candy.

Is HGTV broadcasting Simply Quilts again? When? Or just videos on their website?

Can't look Bev. The rather over-protective stuff on my computer went crazy when I tried to see what you wanted to show us. Polly

They just have them on their web site. You can view more show segments than what is shown under "channels" by searching for a keyword; but when doing so, the segments are not in order. If you choose the current "channels", then the show segments are in order. If you select one segment, then the next one will automatically be played after it is done.

Actually, we only had satellite TV for a short time (cable is not available here), so I have not seen most of those shows.

I'm sorry to hear that :-( as it is rather interesting. HGTV also has a brief overview of the process at

is a small project, but I think that the process needs moreinstructions than what they used. It also does not show the wonderfuluses for the process. You really need to see the show to fullycomprehend what is going on. They have the book at

and you can "Look inside" it to get a bigger picture of the cover, which does show one of her wonderful pictoral quilts made with the process. Just search for "Ghost Layers & Color Washes", select the book and then click on "Look inside". Both covers (front & back) are interesting.

All I can say is, "Wow!" Not my kind of thing yet, but I wish it was!

I had a question as to which would be the best book to purchase, and sent her an e-mail message to snipped-for-privacy@aol.com about that. Below (with her permission) is the reply. I won't be able to get it for a while, but I have a birthday coming up in ~3 months :-).
