Men's shirts quilt

Could someone direct me to a site with a photo of a quilt made from men's shirts? I saw it somewhere a long time ago ... was sewn so the collar and sleeves were still on the shirt/s. When I Google "men's shirt quilt" or similar phrasing, I get thousands of hits, but they all seem to be for t-shirt quilts.



A friend's 14-year-old daughter wants to make her first quilt from her deceased father's shirts and I said I'd help. TIA. Lobo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Delete the obvious to reply to me personally. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When I used this pattern to make a quilt for my son, I didn't add the strip of background fabric along the bottom until after both shirt halves had been sewn together. Less fiddling to match seams that way. Jane

"America Quilts"? Found that site and it has no search capability. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Got zip on that using variations, except for quilted dress shirts! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``

No, it wasn't a pieced pattern. It was actual shirts with the collars and sleeves left on them. It might've had a 3-D appearance?

Several years ago Martha Stewart did a program where she made pillows with men's shirts. Katie Stewart did a program last weekend on PBS where she made a "quilted" headboard with old shirts.

I can't find a picture online, but Mary Mashuta has one in her book "Story Quilts". It's called 'one-armed bandit' and has the collar and one sleeve for each shirt.

A cute story goes with it about how the woman thought the pile of her husband's shirts were for give-away so she cut off one sleeve off each. Turned out he still wanted them....
