9 patch pattern

Hey, I'm trying to locate for a friend... the 9 patch pattern that you cut up again and sew back together.

I think we discussed it here and someone had a photo of one they had made.

don't care if the pattern isn't free.

If this rings a bell and you have slashed up a 9 patch, I'd love to hear from you.

magic 9 patch is just a straight one. stack and slash has skewed cuts (slashed). i've lost all my links when puter crashed back mid june, sorry. will go look for it now tho, hang on a few, unless u find it in the meantime. most anything can be found online for free somewhere, just gotta google the right words, lol. cheers, jeanne

explains how to do it but no pix.just visualize a 9 patch with slightly angled tic-tac-toe lines thru it and should work a treat.if you skew the slashes a wee bit more you can get a star.add some leading to either slightly skewed or star skewed for stained glass look block. google is your friend, check images and u'll see a bunch of diff pix. cheers, jeanne

The one I know of is called Rusty's block - you make one really large 9 patch and make several cuts before recombining. Very easy.....just have to search a bit more for the pattern. My friend has it....I will try to get it from her if you want....not a problem....I'm seeing her tomorrow.

There is a whole book of them.... Slice 'em and Dice 'em. Author is Nancy(?) Bresnan Daniel(s) I believe. It is around here somewhere.

Pati, in Phx who has taught that quilt using the book.

She re-wrote the patterns, and added new samples that are better in the book out more recently.... Slice 'em and Dice 'em.

Thanks, Patti. I'll look for the newer book. I have the old one.

Reno's temperatures aren't as bad as yours (we're only in the low

100's), but I'm still tired of air conditioning. Even at 5:00 AM it's already 79 degrees. I had been enjoying some early morning coffee and reading sessions out on the porch. But this is better than the 6 hours without power the other night. I slept through most of that.

Pati, in Phx (I was close on the name in my first answer. not bad after a day with a high of 116=B0, down from yesterday's 118=B0)
