Oh Leslie, that would be a pity. When you get a minute, you could check with another dealer to see what they say. Or I could check with mine if you like? . In message , Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. writes

Polly, when I bought my single-hole throat plate from my Bernina dealer, it came with a flourescent orange sticker to place over the selector buttons. So far, so good. Now I must paint my quarter inch foot bright orange, too! Don't ask. Nancycog in MD

Thanks for the tip I have just ordered a single hole needle plate and a needle threader for a spare, just in case.

Did not get far with my quilt. I started sewing it and realised I would have too many same coloured squares together. Gone back to the designing board and bought a bit more fabric. LOL

You know, Shirley, I think random placement of squares, so as to keep like ones at a distance from one another is one of the most difficult P&Q tasks that there is. Good luck - the more different 'bits' there are, the better/easier it is. . In message , Shirley Shone writes

Hi, Those are really pretty, must put one on my to do list. I have boxes of pretty ribbons.

I am reasonably well considering. Thanks for asking. Shirley

You really can do that. The Bernina 155 has 40 or more buttons. The "needle-down" button is the 6th one on the 2nd row. That is entirely a pain in the neck to hunt. I put a loud pink coat of paint on the rascal. Now, I can find it without taxing my brain. Adding 'user friendly' paint to a SM might not be a good idea if you would ever consider selling or trading. I had the same results on a single needle position throat plated machine. I don't know what makes it do those leaps on the back when the top stitches look so nice. I just know it was so aggravating that I'm not likely to ever try free motion again as long as I have a walking foot that fits the machine. Debra in VA See my quilts at

It could be the one and only that I make, Butterfly. I do not seem to have as much get up and go in me lately.

I am sad at the moment we have just lost a very dear old friend to lung cancer. His funeral is next Wednesday. Shirley

Thank you for your kind words.

It struck me today that it is 9 years today that I had my heart bypass surgery. Shirley
