Polly's Quilt

O.K. everyone lets get after her. She has always said she could never do a quilt that would stand the test of a quilt show.

The bi-annual show in Hattiesburg, MS is coming up this fall and she still has time to enter.

The show has re-located to the convention center and will be held for three days instead of two.

So lets bombard her with e-mails urging her to enter so everyone in this area can see her beautiful work and Louise's beautiful machine quilting.

Come on now... Polly--- Polly Quilt show--- Quilt show.

I think there should also be a picture sent to Fons & Porter since it was from their magazine. This quilt deserves NATIONAL credit. Wonderful. Anna Belle

That's a great idea. When I sent a quilt I'd made from Jennie Rayment techniques, to her, she was thrilled and put it on her website >g< As did Carol Doak, when I sent her one, from her alphabet patterns.

They do like feedback - just like us >g< . In message , "Anna Bellefladavis"@bellsouth.net.invalid writes

Oh yes - it would be a shame not to let this quilt go to the show. Go for it Polly! Allison

Okay, Ladies. Put your pom-poms down. I've enjoyed sharing the quilt here with friends (I have, I have) but that's as far as it goes. Sneaking in post offices to see if they still have my picture posted on the 'Wanted' bulletin board cured me of any urge to attract attention. Polly

Some of us are 'enterers' and some of us are just as happy with sharing our work here. That's the beauty of the internet....being able to share here.

Polly, I'm glad you DID share with us.

I'm keeping quiet on whether or not you should enter.

Butterfly (That's a personal thing.)

Now, can't you just picture Mr. Esther spread across that quilt like SpiderMan at a quilt show? You know, I've come to accept that some quilters cannot create without a kit or exactly duplicating a sample. I can play a few musical instruments but ones with strings don't quite click in my brain. I can paint landscapes and still life but capturing a likeness in a portrait is beyond my talent. I expect it's the same with those quilters who must follow along with someone else's vision. As much as we would love to give them a hand, maybe they just can't. Sharing our quilt with you all has been so precious, I wish that everyone could do it, at least just once. I don't suppose I could tempt you to attend my violin recital. There will be plenty of empty seats. Polly

Our Polly is truly an artist and a craftsman. There are some people who can "craft" a quilt. Everything is just exactly matched and sewn to result in something technically quite perfect. Nothing wrong with that. BUT, Miss Polly shows us not only her talent of craft but gives us a glimpse of her soul as well. I consider myself honored this quilt was shared with us. I've only gone back to look at it about eleventy seven hundred times and see more and more to ohh and awe about each time. Now send a &%$! picture to Fons & Porter, Polly......perhaps inspire somebody else to step out of the box!!

I paid her to say that. I have to fold her laundry for the next 3 months and clean the litter box. It was worth it. Polly
