Today, I have received 11 posts from 1:46 AM to Polly's at 11:44AM and my: bottom of the screen left hand corner says I have received 87---OE is definitely having problems for the 3rd day in a row. Sorry if I posted and it had been answered as obviously I haven't gotten them. Googling didn't help either :(

Outlook Express is just a newsreader. If you're not getting posts it's actually your ISP's news server that's having problems. You should call them and let them know.
The numbers in the corner that tell you how many posts downloaded and how many are unread have never worked well in the 10 years OE has been around. I wouldn't trust it to give an accurate count.
