I have been very busy (more on that later) and haven't read the news group much. I opened the file this morning and thought the date was
11/15. After answering Polly's question about a good chair I realize the date was 10/15. Sorry, didn't realize it had been a month since I even downloaded newsgroup info. When I did check for new messages there were 4900! You gals have been busy. I had already spent an hour reading old news before these 4900 arrived. I will leave the newsgroup up today and see how much I can scan while passing the computer. Life won't let up until after November 30 and then I will have to start Christmas preparations. There is a new grand niece due in January and I haven't even thought about her quilt. This semi-retirement job of teaching at the local quilt store has taken off as the shop has become the center of attention. It was featured as one of the top ten shops in the fall issue of Sampler Magazine (The Quilt Merchant, Winfield, IL). Now it will be the setting of another national event. I should be able to share that news in a week or so. We are rushing to get everything ready.
In addition to quilt stuff I am spending more time with my mother. She developed a blood clot last month. For now she is living with us and two days a week I drive her home (145 miles) to see the doctor and the hairdresser. We haven't been able to find a hairdresser in my area who does roller sets like the gal she has gone to for 30 years. Here they all want to use the blow dryer. At 92 Mom doesn't have a lot of hair and she wants to be gentle with what is left. She is easy ocmpany to have around.
I have kept my pledge to spend one day a week cleaning and sorting in my studio. It looks a lot better. I have found projects I can't even remember starting. The studio itself is in very good shape. Now I must address the two walk-in closets.
Two days at Mom's, one day cleaning, two days at the store, see how my life has not left much time for visiting with you?
