I did everything right. Not that I believe in the Quilt Police. Mercy no. Every ¼" of my red, white and blue quilt top for Soldier's Angels was cut and stitched as accurately as I could. The batting was steam pressed and permitted to relax until comfortable and flat. The backing is a fine one. It too was pressed, flat and dry. I pinned 3" apart. Only because this quilt goes to a wounded hero and I wanted it to be as good as I could do. So! I am confronted with marshmallows! Just never saw anything like it. I've free-motion quilted several thousand miles for sure. I can do stars, feathers, baby feet, Palmer Method Penmanship with a SM. (Not bragging, of course, just perplexed.) There's a battle underway every inch of this rascal. It appears that the quilt top fabrics have taken on a need to billow. This would be my Last Quilt if I imagined it happened every time. Wonder what on earth has gone so very wrong? Polly
