The acceptable finished quilt sizes are monstrous undertakings when 'diameter' is used incorrectly. I'd need more than the allotted time frame to even consider making a pieced backing for this one! jennellh

i just sent them an email asking if those sizes were really in inches. should it have been in centimetres? 300, 3 metres wide, hmmmmm. still seems pretty big to me. oh well.

also when i hit 'send msg' it asked for a subject but there is nowhere to enter a subject, only the business/domain name. i added that bit of info under my signature. no doubt i wont see a reply til my tuesday tho. today is sunday. j.

They also had the Hoffman challenge on their site which had measurements:

"1. The quilt can be of any shape, but the combined total of all sides of the quilt cannot be less than 72 inches nor more than 160 inches (for example an 18? x 18? quilt equals 72?, a 40? x 40? quilt equals 160?). A round quilt cannot have a diameter greater than 40 inches."

I wonder if they copied this method of measuring, but didn't understand the meaning of diameter?

thats a possibility i hadnt considered...i didnt read the hoffman challenge info. cuz 300 inches is 25ft. omg, who makes a quilt that size. not many folks. would be kind of tricky getting one that size under the usual home sewing machine. snorfle, j.
