You can work with their quilt kits if you like. They have some simple kids quilt patterns at the bottom of the page if you do this kind of stuff.

I had never heard of this group until today.

Thanks, Taria. I'm asked from time to time about specifications for needy crib quilts and that site lays it out quite clearly. But - I'm puzzled about one sentence. They say: Remember, some of these kids are going through chemo so please try to color coordinate your quilts. ? Polly

I might do this. I discovered with new grandchild that I have a real affinity for baby quilts. Lord knows I have drowned them in baby quilts and I do have some really beautiful children's prints in my stash. One 45" top already finished with no plans for it. I will play around with the old Singer and see if I can do a decent job quilting with it.

I put in all my Project Linus publicity to make the quilts "colorful, cheerful, and cuddly." Most of the time they are!

I must tell the story of one very pretty quilt that was refused by a local pregnancy group.

It was bright, colorful and happy. But, one of the fabrics was sort of like the canary and the pussy cat cartoons, yes the cat had feathers protruding from it's mouth!

The woman who rejected that quilt said that it was too garish, a terrible thing to show a child. What??? It was cute, funny, and beautiful. Another group grabbed it , said that any child would cherish it.
