Re: OT Update

Yay! I hope fondling fabric, stitching a few blocks and maybe even doing some polymer clay work doesn't hurt! Isn't it great to be staple-free!?!

I've been looking at your quilts on webshots and really learning some neat stuff. It never occurred to me to use a half square triangle in an attic window block. Now I have no excuse not to try this. The fabric on your Hawaiian pinwheel looked like it was one piece and not scrappy. I love it by the way. In two of my log cabin quilts I have done this but didn't mind since they were supposed to look scrappy.

Go up and down any/all stairs backwards ... you use an entirely different set of muscles.

Revert to "floor level", as the kids do ... you won't use as many tummy or abdomen muscles, mostly leg & shoulder/back.

When legs/shoulders/back give out ... sit & quilt or use 'puter.

Let DH do dinner ... 'cause you've now had a very exhausting day!

I cringe at the thought of staples, and am glad to hear you're finally free of them.

BTW, I've got some of those hollyhocks growing now (although they're in bloom). Will send you some seeds when they're ready. :^)

Hey, thanks, Med. Gnome! I had fun looking at yours, too! When I saw your Hawaiian Quilt blocks, I thought you were from Hawaii. Smart and creative of you to make your own patterns. You would have loved the monthly challenges we used to have led by meSue. I'd never have an excuse and tried some stuff I'd never do without her gentle nudges.

staple-free!?!

Whoohooo for the hollyhocks seeds!! Thank you! As for the other tips... noted and appreciated. Its amazing what a few weeks of doing nothing can do to a body...and a house that has a 2 year old in it. Todays small goal was to get the peanut butter off the carpet. Its pretty well gone now. Dont want to overdo! lol Thank you DeB! Diana
