Based on your limited explanation, I expect you've been dragged into participating in the fabric version of a chain letter. Many well-meaning people pass these on to others they know. Bottom line: unless you're at the very top, the math doesn't work. Ever.

As you can see, the numbers grow quickly with each succeeding generation. And of course, they grow much faster if each person is expected to mail to more than four people. On the other hand, we have a number of SWAPS going on that we'd be glad to have you take part in! In a centralized swap, you're guaranteed to get your "investment" back. In some non-centralized swaps, the hostess will make good when a swap partner fails to reciprocate. All in all, a much better arrangement, don't you think? :)
