They are rewriting history. It's scary. I try to give my students the truth in language they understand. I don't give opinion when teaching social studies, just facts. For example - I did let my 4th and 5th graders know that the Founding Fathers did not exactly get along and agree on everything and that sometimes it was quite acrimonious. It was amazing to me how many parents told me that they, themselves found this interesting and never learned it.
