Singer Stylist 457

I know there is a website I can go to to get information about this machine. A friend of mine volunteers at a local Hospice shop. I told her to keep her eyes open for "older" Singer sewing machines. Although, this isn't quite what I had in mind, it looks like it could be from a time when Singer made a decent machine, but I can't remember where to look for this information. There is a note on it that there is a problem with the bobbin, but I haven't plugged it in yet to see if I can figure out what the problem is.

Is this a keeper or a looser?

The 457 is the old "Stylist" line. They were mid-range models of the time, and use a class 66 'drop in' style bobbin. Not in the same 'league' as, say, the 401 or early 600 models but still decent machines.

This vintage machine support site has a lot of information on this model inc. a free schematic.
