small mind easily amused!!!

yes this is on topic, so dont get u'r knickers in a twist yet...

talk bout small minds being easily amused. no, not the wee kidlets that wander thru our lives now and again. this time it was my wee mind.

i got up this morning, wandered blearly eyed into the kitchen. omg, what a mess, no one but me does dishes or cleans it and as i spent all day yesterday coccooned on a livingroom/lounge chair covered in two quilts to keep warm. i had a monster headache and i get cold with'em. today its raining and i'm cold again from that, arghhhhhhh. oops, back to the kitchen... what to my wondering eyes should appear in the chaos of dirty dishes, glasses, pots and pans but an empty large size sultana/raisin bran box and no one had squashed it. it was mine, all mine. wooooooohooooooooooo!!!!!!!! now then what delicious shapes can i cut from it for new applique designs :D did i say wooooooooohoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! jeanne*

Oh Jeanne, I adore you...lol YOu remind me of the running joke about my stepmom - put her in a corner with a pair of socks and she can amuse herself for hours

Little kids always wind up playing with the empty box instead of the expensive toy. :) (Duckin' and runnin'!!!)

Enjoy your find!

small spaces are easier to touch the sides, a bit womb-like, our first favourite place. :D jeanne*

oooh, don't forget the puter...because I'd miss you terribly, and would feel left out. I wanna make a fort, too...hey, let's all do that...make a fort in the middle of the living room. It's a thought...

DS ( nearly 10)still loves playing in boxes. Considering how sturdy ( Drs term) he is its amazing the size box he can fit into.

There is a coziness, a feeling of safe, and My Size inside someplace small. I used to pad the bottom of my closet with blankets and pillows and read or snooze. It was a private spot.. Thanks for reminding me of it! Diana

LOL @ all of you! I used to crawl under my desk (it was one of those corner ones) as a teenager with a blanky and my rag dolly and rant and rave at the world as I saw it! Haven't done it in years. Hmmmmm

and I thought babies liked to be wrapped up snug? DS has always preferred to have his arms out to wave/thrash around, and of late regularly kicks his way out of what he's wrapped in. Ive taken to putting him in a sleep bag to keep him covered!

When I was 13 I went to visit my sister (recently graduated from college with a psych degree) in Dallas. The guest room had a huge (to me) walk in closet. The stray cat they had taken in had had kittens. I would take the kittens into the closet with me and play with them for hrs. My sis, the new psych major, kept trying to analyse why I was doing this. Duh! They can't get away from me in the closet!
