This Group

This is the best group. I know I don't say much on here. After all, what could I say that someone on here couldn't say better.

I just wanted you *all* to know that you always come through for me. Every time I need to know something the answer is always there. Someone else asks or has asked.

For example, my grandchildren were here for the summer and I have not made my grandson his perfect quilt yet. I just can't decide what to make him. Then someone asked about a bug jar quilt. How perfect. He spent his entire summer catching things and putting them in jars (including snakes, a bat, and all kinds of bugs.)

Once again, you have come through for me.

I'd like to second Vikki's message. I have gained and stock-piled tons of information from this group. Just recently I learned that one of my cousins is terminally ill. Of course, she needs a quilt! In thinking about what would be fast and meaningful I remembered the many recommendations here for the Warm Wishes pattern. It is perfect! The top flew together. It will be quilted and bound this weekend and, assuming that goes well, off in the mail on Monday.

Thank you all!

Rita L.

I can't take any credit for suggestions, but I'd like to thank you for your post. It made me smile and that is a wonderful thing. After the week I've had and the crapola at work, it is a very wonderful thing. So I'm going to contemplate the great compliment you have paid us and spend a couple of days pretending my place of work does not exist. I appreciate you getting my weekend off to a lovely start :-)

I absolutely agree with you, Roberta. And the sort of coincidences that occur, as Vikki mentioned, are amazing

- like my needing the hint about satin/buttonhole stitch that Taria asked about last week and I am just about to try for the first time. . In message , Roberta Zollner writes

A bug jar quilt with bats, snakes, and other things in the jars too. That is going to look so cool. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Okay, that is my laugh for the day!! Crapola is one funny memory, and we used to say that as kids back in the early 60's. (can I be that old?) I am sitting here laughing, and and can hear my brother saying crapola just about all the time, and my Mom being so annoyed at us. Just think what these kids say today. Too funny. Yes, this group is great fun. Karen

Aw, hush, Debi!! You know you're sweeter than sugar (and not in the least bit fattening!) and one of the most supportive people here!!! :-)

You're always one of the first to give great suggestions, great ideas, great vibes, and great advice!!

I'm sorry work's been givin' you fits!! Do you want to vent?? Lord knows, you're accomodating when others do, so go ahead!!! :-)

Connie, you're the best! Suffice it to say that it has been a combination of being on call for a long time, computer problems with our Radiology Information System that disrupt the entire hospital, and an earache. The first two have been remedied by me not being on call or at work the past few days and the latter by antibiotics and ibuprofen. A trip to the movies today should complete the cure. But thank you so much for the offer to vent. This post might have been *much* longer had I decided to rattle my litany of complaints off a few days ago. Such is the beauty of this place, again reinstated. Friends doing for each other what friends always do, listening and supporting. I love you guys.
