Oh boy! that furniture is just wonderful. Those gorgeous woods. Yummmmm! Your wife's office is really beautiful - such a solid, calming wood: oak. . In message , John writes

I've just had a wonderful "tour" of your photos, John, and I must say your furniture is just gorgeous! I'm lusting after most of it.

I made all of the office furniture for Lois when she was made Editorial Services Director in charge of the copyediting division of the Legal Publishing co. that she retired from. She used it in her office, at work for about 10 years, before she was given the axe and shoved out the door with a pocketfull of money. The dining room table is also part of that group of furniture pieces and was used as her conference table which would seat 10 people tightly or six without sharing the cramped spaces that would insue from the larger number. We adapted it for our dining room table when she retired and the round table that is in the office picture, was used as our kitchen table when she was still working. I got a number of jobs to make things, from the various lawyers that she worked with, when I made the furniture for her. So, you could say it was paid for within the advertising budget.

I don't know which impressed my more, your craftmanship for quiltmaking or cabinetmaking or Lois's genealogy research! I rather liked the Nine Patch bed quilt, the photo showed the lustre of the fabrics but the Irish Chain caught my eye......then the Oak storage cabinet went onto my wishlist followed by the computer desk. In the end I found myself wondering which system Lois uses for filing her research Lovely work, John.

Hey John, great pictures. Who does the needlepoint?? So -- do you know how the devil you manage to rotate &/or crop photos now that Webshots has "updated" their upload system and screwed everything up? I have just uploaded more quilt WIP pics and can't for the life of me find any way to rotate or crop them! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

All the pictures of items on the webshots site, with the exception of the stove and the spinning wheel, were crafted by me. For a couple of years I got heavily into needlepoint and turned out pillow after pillow until I kind of got bored with the whole thing. I suppose I will get back to it one day, but for now the bag of Paternayan yarn that I have, is sitting in storage and the frames I used are in the attic. What I do to rotate the pictures is, I use a Photo editing software called Camedia which does all that sort of thing. It crops and enlarges and gets rid of red eye and all that stuff. You just edit the downloaded picture within the Camedia program and then, save as: (name), and then use that picture to post. I am sure there are other photo editing software programs that are much better, and more advanced, that do the same or better, but this one came with my camera and it seems to meet my limited needs. I used to do a lot of film photography when I was younger. I thought I might like to be the next Henry Cartier-Bresson, but luckily , for the world that never did work out.

Thanks for sharing so many lovely things for us to look at! I really like the William Morris fox, and the Renoir lady, as well as the many nice wood pcs. new and old. As well as grabbing another look at that library quilt.
