I discovered a stack of blocks today in my 'one day' heap. The blocks are appliquéd cowboy boots. They must have been put away for something urgent. Maybe I was just sick of appliqué or didn't know what to do next. For no reason, I buy purple but never choose it when piecing. Well, today was the day. I'm sashing the boot blocks with purple *and* a purple/lime/aqua plaid. Oh my how dazzling. Now I know why you Poiple People are so crazy about it. Make room for me over at the purple frame; I'll bring the chocolate. Purple Polly
There is absolutely nothing to compare to purple and green :-). I found a lovely little LQS when in Estes Park, CO last week and bought three different purple and green fabrics -- mostly purple in the prints. For me, green is a neutral -- it goes with every other color in creation!! All those leaves and grasses, etc. Anyway, welcome to the purple lovers pride :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Never been a big purple fan myself - but one of my students is doing a giant mariners compass in purple and bright lime green, with purple and lime log cabin blocks as a border.
I will post pictures when finished. Stunning!!
Now me - I put a little bit of purple in every red quilt I make!
How I wish I could show it to you. The boots are full of little surprises. One boot top is fuzzy bees, one sports the Cat in the Hat, there's even one in yellow trimmed with black and white polka dots. And yes, it's bootiful. Polly
Polly - they sound divine! My bedroom is currently decorated in purple, lavender and green and I just love it. When you're all done, maybe we should plan a "hootenanny" - wha' da ya say??
Welcome to the Purple People group, Polly! We knew you'd come around sooner or later! Your project sounds wonderful, especially with the plaid sashing. Yummy!
Welcome to "Purple Anonymous" where us purple people meet to discuss how we find uses for purple. Which reminds me of a book DD loved to have read to her called "Mabel Murple" by Sheree Fitch. What a tongue twister it is.
Mabel Murple motored merrily through muddy purple puddles she sang: "I'm a purple person"" she wore a purple helmet and purple leather gloves she's the purple motorbiker whom everybody loves
Oooh, my favorite colors! My stash is overfilled with purple, blue, and green--but I'm not complaining. ;-) Your project sounds lovely. I'll bring the coffee.

Well I saw the thing coming out of the sky It had one long horn and one big eye I commenced to shakin' and I said oo-wee It looks like a purple people eater to me It was a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater Sure looks good to me
Well, he came down to earth and he lit in a tree I said mr Purple People Eater don't eat me I heard him say in a voice so gruff I wouldn't eat you 'cos you're too tough It was a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater It sure looks strange to me
I said mr Purple People Eater what's your line He said eating purple people and it sure is fine But that's not the reason that I came to land I wanna get a job in a rock 'n roll band Well, bless my soul rock 'n roll flying' purple people eater Pigeon-toed under-growed flyin' purple people eater one-eyed one-horned it was a people eater What a sight to see
Well, he swung from the tree and he lit on the ground he started to rock really rockin' around It was a crazy ditty with a swinging tune Wop bop a lula wop bam boom one-eyes one-horned flying people eater Ooh, it sure looks strange to me
Well he went on his way and then what do you know I saw him last night on a TV show He was a blowin' it out and really knockin' them dead Playing rock 'n roll music through the horn in his head
That brings back memories of junior high days :). Listen to it at composer/singer Sheb Wooley's web site.
My first thought was that you left out the "ooh-eee-ooh-ah-ah-ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang" chorus, but then realized that that was part of the Witchdoctor song of about the same era. That must have been an era of goofy song lyrics, because I think "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and "Beep Beep" (Little Nash Rambler) were also in somewhat the same time frame. What memories!
Can't resist - now you've mentioned the polka dot ... Do you remember that group with the most marvellous name: 'Dave, Dee, Dozey, Beaky, Mick and Titch'? (Don't know if the Beaky is spelt correctly! - it was the *sound of the name that I loved!) . In message , Julia in MN writes
