All the very best Mary - whether you read this or not. Take care, of yourself as well as your parents. . In message , maryd writes

Dear Mary. The task you are about to do, will be very hard on you, so to be a good care provider you have to take care of yourself first. You will want to do more than you should because you have a big heart, try to have a day or two a week just for yourself and don't feel guilty about it, otherwise you will be overtired and we don't want that to happen. I will be praying for you, take care. Dixie in sunny NB.

When I give to you something I made with my hands I share my heart.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. The flights were uneventful. This is one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Hospice has been called in and will be having a meeting with the family on Wednesday to set up a care plan. Because Hospice is taking over, medicare won't pay for a caregiver as I understand it. I guess I'll find out Wednesday. I do have a sewing machine here but can't get to it so I'm glad I brought some hand work.

You know that so many of us have been through this stage in parents' lives, that you have a wealth of understanding behind you and rooting for you. I so agree with you about the difficulty, largely in role reversal as much as anything else. I was asked to feed my father, in hospital, one day; and I don't know how I had the strength to do it - it just felt completely wrong. Do rest when you can, as this is going to take a lot out of you. Wishing it could all be different, and that at least you had a new home and job to look forward to. It will come, but you need it *now, don't you. Hang in there, Mary. .
