; ) Isn't that the truth! I also just finished my wrapping, food prep, etc. at 1 am. My youngest son is home from college and my older son and his family will be out tomorrow. This is one of the few times each year we all get together and there is always so much I want to do to make it nice.

Merry Christmas all from a former lurker!

My daughter stopped me from doing all her last minute stuff! She came home from date at 1:30am, said, "Mom?" and when I looked at her, one eye went one way, one eye went the other, so she decided I'd had enough! I'd have kept going, but she was so sweet -- told me she could wait another day or two. She enjoys getting those "oh, yeah, I forgot" gifts two and three days later when we find them in the closet, anyway. For husband and son, they have birthdays in Jan and Feb, so I can always pretend I'd planned to give those gifts then!

Sounds familiar! I had so many things going at the last minute that I couldn't keep up plus I had an upper respiratory infection that was physically pulling me down. Although I finished the doll and clothes that I was making for my granddaughter I did not get the monkey finished for my grandson. But - his birthday is in February so he will get it then! (don't you love those winter birthdays!)

Your daughter sounds like a real doll!
