bah humbug!!!

I could've titled this 'pet peeve du jour' but used seasonal phrase instead ;-)

Nothing in my stash said 'stitch me now!' until I got the idea to do the same weird woman in 4 different sizes to represent my sisters and I. I dutifully set up a file suitable for tracing in PaintShop Pro and carefully went over most of the details with an iron on transfer pencil.

Opened a drawer and there right on top saw a piece of material that would be perfect for the project.

Saw that there were fold lines and that's what this bah humbug rant is about: those (*&^%$# lines have been a *itch to remove!!! Had to soak, not dampen, the fabric multiple times before they disappeared when ironed.

Bah indeed!!

My bah is that the house is a mess, i'm not done wrapping gifts yet, and my DH's family is coming for dinner on Sunday! Not a big Bah, just a teeny one, since I am home tomorrow and can get things cleaned up - I hope!

Merry, Merry Christmas to all, Happy Hannukah, Kwannza, whatever you celebrate, be happy and safe!

50,000 people just died of starvation, and another 50,000 will die again sometime today of starvation.

And at least another 100,000 will be born to add to an already overburdened world. It just depends which way you look at it.

Maybe that goes back to the balance of nature??

Poor old Mother Nature is WAY out of balance with an overload of humanity - we`ve about sucked her dry.

Unfortunately not. When I was growing up there were two billion people on the planet. Now there are six billion.

I remember as a kid (eons back) we were taught that supply and demand of food supplies was what kept nature in balance.

Nope, I was going to expand, but in the spirit of the season, no more arguments.

May you all have a "Holiday of your choice" to remember and give thanks for. ( YES Darla, I ended up with a preposition!)!

Hugs

I don't think Anne was equating her problem with poverty, world hunger or global warming. She was just expressing a frustration common to needlework on a needlework news group. Dawne

And I was expressing my frustration in a post named bah humbug, which is not stitching related phraseology.

Just putting things in perspective.

Things are in perspective when they are on the same scale or of the same material, Life is made of everyday happenings, repairing Big problems starts with repairing the seemingly small ones. I have known TOO many people who were So busy to correct the Big world that they never paid attention to their own surroundings, and let it decay. mirjam
