Seasonal Greetings

Firstly, let me wish everyone the seasons greetings of their choice.

For me, it's Christmas and we have a weekend of services at church which will be fun, hard work and uplifting all at the same time.

Second, I've been even quieter than usual lately although I have been reading so I'd like to say a belated happy birthday to anyone I've missed and that I've been thinking of the various people who asked for prayers.

Somehow I never got around to posting about my own prayer request until now. Some of you will know that I've had a couple of miscarriages. A large part of the reason I've been lurking is that I'm pregnant again and for a while I couldn't bring myself to believe it was actually going to go anywhere, but somehow it seems to have put my whole brain on hold. It's been terribly difficult to organise myself into doing anything at all. When I set out to make Christmas puddings it ended up taking about 10 days from when I started to when I actually managed to find the energy to do them. At my nine week scan when the nurse pointed out the heartbeat I just looked blankly at her - almost I'd been certain we wouldn't see anything as that was just past where I've got to before. So here I am at 22 weeks and finally believing that this really is happening. Official due date 28/04/06. It's been an intersting ride though and looks set to continue. Shortly after I got pregnant I developed an umbilical hernia which of course they can't do anything about while I'm pregnant! And when I went for my routine midwife appointment two weeks ago my blood pressure had rocketed. Fortunately when they checked it again two days later it was back down somewhat and when the hospital checked it again a further two days later it was back to what it had been four weeks earlier - still a little higher than my usual but not high enough to worry about. Today my BP had gone back to absolutely normal for me. This is a big relief!

Use this as a wonderful excuse for pacing yourself carefully and taking special care of yourself (pampering even). It couldn't hurt and might be nice. Turn on your favorite music, sit in your favorite chair and plan that New Years Cast On just for you.
