University Challenge - part 2

Hello folks! Well, not only have I been selected for the team, but as the team leader! My areas to brush up on are contemporary politics, modern American and British history (areas where these countries have worked together) and the geography of North and South America. I said I knew North American geography quite well, so could I take over African geography which wasn't assigned to anyone? So after my exams are finished in May, I'll have a bit more studying to do.... Wish us luck, that we get through to the semi-finals!

If we can do anything to help you brush up, let us know. I certainly won't be able to help much with politics (since most of it irritates me no end!) but I have a garbage can for a mind (which explains why I have such difficulty with maths; the lyrics to the old Fig Newton commercial from the

70's is firmly stuck in place!) and could possibly come up with something to help. Congratulations!!

Johanna -- sounds like fun! Here is a website I found a while back... and have used with my son (and I enjoy playing there too!) YOu might find it an easy way to brush up on some of the basics!

I did not see you original post so I'm wondering if this University challenge is like a quiz bowl format. My son competed in HS and then again in college. He has one of those minds that doesn't forget anything! He was really good in geography. Just curious as to what type of competition you are involved in.
