DH & I spent last week at family week at a Bible camp in northern Wisconsin. It's something we do every year and find nice and relaxing. We spent the morning in group activities and the afternoons were free to do whatever we wanted. I usually took a chair, some reading material, and some quilting down near the lake, in the shade, and spent most of the afternoon reading and quilting. This year I worked on a small whole-cloth quilt.
One afternoon was a bit rainy, so we drove to Rice Lake and visited the LQS, The Busy Bobbin. They had quite a few fat quarters for $1 each or
12 for $10, so I bought enough for 2 small Yellow Brick Road quilts that I will probably donate to the local Ronald McDonald House. I have cut the strips for both and pieced the top (except for borders) of one. When I get them both pieced, I think I'll have to go shopping for fabric for the borders.I also bought a table runner pattern. Last fall we visited our nephew's family and after we got home, I bought fabric for a table runner in colors that I thought would look nice in their home. I never got it made because I just wasn't completely happy with the pattern that I planned to use. When I saw this pattern, I knew it would be perfect with that fabric. I finished piecing that over the weekend; I had enough fabric for a second one so I pieced that one, too. The pattern is called "Zigzag" from Lehmann/Hall Designs. It was quite easy to piece and went together quickly.
Now I am going to have to take my machine to the dining room table, where I have more room, and machine quilt some of the stuff that I have pieced and ready to quilt.
