Thanks Roberta. I feel much better about just being given it now knowing that it isn't worth much.

It took a few days to hear back from her so I thought that it had been taken already. I guess I was 2nd in line and the first gal never got back to her about when she could pick it up, so lucky me!!

I don't go into the shop much anymore. I need to save my money for home improvement projects, so this way there is no temptations. I am thinking about taking a paper piecing or English paper piecing class, but I haven't checked the schedule recently to see what you guys are offering right now.

Thanks Phyllis. Now that I know it is not worth very much I can feel less guilty about the lady just giving it to me. I can also now enjoy it as a sewing machine that happens to be a vintage collectable rather than the other way around. Makes it easier to play with, and not have to worry about screwing it up somehow.

I know what you mean about temptation...I try not to hang out there much myself! Last time I did, I spent more than I earned for teaching my last class! There are all kinds of neat new things they brought back from Quilt Market now.
