Sally, I buy almost every bagmaking book I run across and have 10 or so. Along with many patterns for bags and a huge folder on my computer full of .pdf files of all the free patterns I find online. I'm a bag junkie....;-)

Have any of you may Jenny Raymond's "Easy on the Back Bag"? The pattern is down toward the bottom of She spoke at our guild this week and I bought the pattern.
I also bought her "Creative Techniques for Wearables" book; it looked like it had lots of good ideas and descriptions of techniques.
She does a lot of garments, including a the really extravagant show garments. She had "From Nebraska with Love" and "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" at the meeting; they look fantastic in the photos and are even more fantastic in person.

No, I haven't seen this before, though I have a similar one in one of my books.
One day I will complete a sweatshirt jacket. I started one using a Karen Stone pattern, but then decided I liked it as a quilt, so when I have done 3 more blocks that will join my pile of tops! I now have the sweatshirt still waiting!
Jenny's bag reminds me of the one I made for DD

Dee, I love it! Where did you get the pattern? It looks perfect for my DSD
Me too! Me too! *jumping up and down* I'd love to find a pattern for that one. Looks like something I'd carry.
I love making bags and purses, quilted and felted. But what the heck am I doing with 10+ (I'm underestimating) purses? And how can I justify making more?

A friend of mine adores making bags. She must have had about thirty, when she came to give our group a talk last year! She uses them to keep things in her storage cupboard and wardrobe. Eg, she keeps her socks in one, current knitting in another; and each UFO or WIP gets its own bag >g< . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

I can definitely recommend the service from the Cotton Vault. My envelope of patterns arrived today, one week and a day after placing the order. My first wonder wallet is made and tomorrow I shall test it for size with UK banknotes which are proportioned rather differently from dollar bills. Then I shall decide if I need to alter any dimensions
*before* making more as Christmas presents. DD will get this first one anyway as it is pink and that is her colour not mine. The instructions in the pattern are very clear and it was a doddle to make.

Mine came even quicker! but haven't had time to use it yet.

OK I have checked it with £5, £10 & £20 notes (I am not bothering with £50 notes 'cos they don't come out of cash machines (ATMs), so are less likely to be carried as standard and I haven't got one anyway). £5 & £10 notes fit nicely with the fold of the note to one side, the £20 is too tall like that, but fits fine turned the other way. So there is no desperate need to alter the dimensions. If I made a "wide" wonder wallet to take two credit cards side by side, then the coin pocket & cover would definitely benefit from an extra half inch of finished height.
Now I must make some more wallets - a good chance to use some of the FQs in my stash :)
