Wonder Wallet came!

I got the WW and two purse patterns. I am so excited! I will take pictures for you all to see along with my trials and tribulations in making these items.

Boca Jan,

A few things I do differently for my Wonder Wallets. I added iron on interfacing (I used Craft Fuse) in step 1 _after_ it says to fold the cover piece in half. I added the interfacing to half the cover butting it up into the fold. Also, I rounded the corners of the cover before stitching. I took a big spool of thread and traced the stitching line for the curve starting at the seam line, but the edge of the fabric.

I don't know whether Joan has added this to the newer patterns, but she's now saying to not add the velcro on the cover piece until the wallet is completed. It works better if the velcro isn't quite so far down (1/2") as stated in the pattern. I place it about 1/4" down.

I meant starting at the seam line, not at the edge of the fabric!

Let me know what you think, Jan. Mine came this week too, and I immediately made one. You'll love how quickly they go together - it was a snap. I didn't like all the bulk in the corners when I turned it, but, I got some tips on how to help with that, and a beautiful instruction piece on how to make frog closures instead of velcro. I'm going to try a couple more this weekend. Good luck!!

Cute! You can't make just one WW, just like you can't eat just one chip!

Nice job Jan, and yes Donna you are quite right about quantity - I have this evening completed WW#5 with numbers 6, 7 & 8 all cut out and ready to roll. Choosing the fabs is taking me the longest, but I am being good and using up scraps at the moment.

So pretty! Now that would really cheer up the dreary interior of my handbag :-) How long did it take to make? Roberta in D

It took less then an hour. It took me longer to decide on the fabric! LOL. You can make 2 with a FQ.

I just found this site that has the patterns on sale - 20% off. I think I'll get something else....LOL

As soon as I showed some of my friends how I use one of my Wonder Wallets, now they want to get the pattern and make some for themselves. Besides credit cards, I always have rewards cards (from Staples, Best Buy, etc.) and gift cards in my wallet. Since I started making Wonder Wallets, I keep all of those kinds of cards in one Wonder Wallet. They're so much easier to find because I know that's the only thing in that particular WW. Another WW that lives in my purse has my business cards in it.

I've started making them with each pocket a different fabric. It's easier to see the separation of the pockets that way.
