OT--It's OFFICIAL!

It is now the bathroom remodel from HEXX. After tearing out the tile to find the drywall moldy which was torn out to reveal rotted studs, which were surgically removed and replaced with new beside old, and fixing the too big hole in the slab for the shower drain to put the new pan in and the neighbor having to replace the shower piping since we bought a different brand of plumbing, and once the mop board was removed revealing more moldy drywall which necissitated 12 inches of drywall being removed clear around the bathroom, on which I finished mudding tonight so that I could sand tomorrow so hopefully we could prime, texture and then paint over Thanksgiving, only to have that all shot to you know where when Bert went down to get the laundry only to step into 2 inches of water from the plumbing break under the sink, not from the replaced plumbing behind the washer which was also discovered along the way, so instead of getting ready for bed we wet vaced, sponged, pulled carpet back in the closet, and now have another repair to do before the remodel can continue.

How is that for a run-on sentence.

My class is almost over of which I have five, I repeat five pages of different self-reflection to write, and I am not the teacher. An entire web-site to build, which is not graded, but required or I don't pass. I have to create the example to show my students don't you know.

I'm also in the middle of another yearbook deadline, which is going very well, thank you, and the best of all is that Thanksgiving is here and I have four days off. To work, on the bathroom remodel from .....

I even tried to do some handsewing on Thursday night, but I was so keyed up that I couldn't even relax and enjoy it. So I just sat down on the floor and petted the dog we were dog-sitting. That was good.

So, way past bedtime, the alarm will ring way too early, and the fan noise from downstairs sounds like a hurricane.

Steve, So sorry to hear of your nightmare. Fortunately we've not had that luck (or lack thereof) when it's come to home reno's. However, a friend of ours is still waiting for the shower to be completed in her master bath. It's only been 5 yrs. for her and she's married to the plumber!

Petting the dog is wonderful therapy.

Whew! Just reading your post made me tired. ;-)

That is the bathroom remodel from HEXX! Just remember, when it is finally finished, it will be wonderful, and you and Bert can feel proud of the thorough job.

Maybe you and Bert need to get a dog of your own? ;-)

DH wants me to choose a new floor and toilet for our bathroom. I estimate this little improvement will cost about $ 20,000 and take 5 years more or less. I keep hoping that ignoring the project will make it go away. Polly

I'm using DreamWeaver to construct the site, and learning the program while I use it since I have to have the example for the class as well as having to know the program for next semester for my students. It also has to have cross-platform compatibility and DreamWeaver helps with that.

The plan has been in place for over a year for the redo, but we didn't get started on the tear out until April, then I was a bit under the weather, then gone for part of summer, then company, then school started, and now we are moving slowly ahead.

I have great visions of how it will look. Soft green walls, light tan tile in the shower with a line of tiles with a darker woven knot design, oak vanity with granite counter, brushed nickel fixtures. There will definitely be pictures when it is done.

Actually we had a really good laugh today. That was good for us. Bert turned off the water again today and replaced both connections. That won't happen again for awhile, at least not there.

Oh my. A clause. I wish I knew what that was. I experienced one of the not so fine moments in educational experiments in 7th and 8th grade in English and it bombed and we never learned any of the parts of English and such. So sad but I couldn't tell you a adjective from a pronoun if my life depended on it. I write fairly decent now, but only from years of having to for classes. And I still can't tell you how.

Well, we may get to the painting but I'm not holding my breath. The downstairs, which was somewhat cleaned up is now a disaster. I made great strides on my website tonight but still have all the writing to do. That will probably be the main focus over break. Everything has to be done by the 11th, but I want it out of my hair ASAP.

We're surviving up here. We had 10 below last week at had 37 yesterday. The weather has not been in the normal range for weeks.

As the neighbor across the street said, their kitchen remodel became an archeological dig. I don't know what all they went through since they don't talk to us, after all we're the "you-know-whats" on the street, but they spoke to our other neighbors and apparently it took about two months longer than they expected since it lead from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room because of various problems. We want to redo the kitchen someday, nothing major, but now we're scared.

Poor Steven! Ahhh, the trials and tribulations of being a homeowner! Yes, I can certainly feel your pain! I think I bought the biggest money pit in history. It never ends. Take pictures of your progress, and later on downt the road, you will get a chuckle out of them. Believe me! Good luck on your school endeavors!

Steve, I am a 'you-know-what' in another sense so I understand and sympathize. The only divorced woman in a family-type neighborhood. All the wives seem to think I'm going to go after their husbands. Yuck. They can keep them. LOL
