For those not yet familiar with the WOWIO.com advertising-funded free ebooks in PDF format, this would be a good time to go look, as they just added nine books on quilting to their "recently added" category (upper right corner drop-down menu on the below URLed page):.
This is limited to USofA residents, unfortunately, by the realities of where the advertisers want to pay to have their ads seen, and there are lots of fiddly details about signing up for the service, but my oh my does it work! I have downloaded more books already than I am likely to live long enough to finish reading, and they are adding new ebooks faster on average than they allow me to download books (5 per day limit).
Not only are the books "free for the downloading" for you, but you support the (in this case quilting) book authors, who get some pittance for each copy downloaded. Of many such pittances, though, can real wealth be comprised.
