Hey all :) For all you ladies that know yer punches lol I want to get kinda a big circle punch, about 1 3/4 for makin faces, accents and stuff. My question is, is that size something i would get a lot of use out of for the money?? Or would it be a waste of bucks. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!
your post reminded to ask about the CM square punch...are there various sizes or not? do you know? I'm looking for one that is about 2"X2" or so...any ideas about price? Thanks!
And the double square punch can make square rings so to speak. I think I was taught to punch out the small square then slide the paper over center small square in big square window and make another punch. Voila! Square frames or rings whatever you'd like to call them.
Pesonally, I don't use the punches. I think I have 2 tiny ones a heart and a star. I use my friends CM punches for squares and circles usually when they are here telling me how wonderful they and how I should try them. I seldom use die cuts eithers. I do use the cutting system from Creative Memories ALL THE TIME. I have the circles, ovals, and the straight piece that does wavy and straight lines. Recently earn some new shapes a large oval, hexagon and one other shape. Haven't use them... yet. When I want squares I cut them. When I want circles I cut them. It I think depends on your style of scrapbooking. I'm pretty simple.
There are two sizes, one has a 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch and the other punch has a 1 inch and a 3/4 inch. The small square punch is only available through the Memory Keepers Club which is a card that keeps tracks of your CM purchases and when you get to $250.00 you get your choice of free products and that is one of them. The large one is $20.00. Now when they came out with the Hexagon punch and the Circle punch (same idea - two punches in one) they are available for purchase for $20.00 each. I tell you the prices also because people are selling these on Ebay for more than that! I don't want you guys to get ripped off! CM is trying to stop people from selling on ebay and if you are a consultant they will immediately drop you!
You know, I didn't think about CM. I have their cutting system, which is very cool, there are different side circle patterns and you can use different blades to determine the size of what you cut out. Maybe that would suit your purpose but you'd get more use out of it than you would a punch that is always the same size. Granted, it's more costly but I believe you'd get your money's worth out of the cutting system...I know I have! S
Last I saw CM didn't have a @" square. The thing to remember is that when they are measuring squares, they measure corner to corner in an X not side to up one side or another. I bought a 2in square punch several years ago and then learned their system of measuring. Unformately I wasn't about to use the square punch for the way I had intended but I do put it to use now and then. You can ususally find the 2" square punches at Michael's and with a coupon...they aren't priced bad at all. HTH S
I was going to suggest the Coluzzle also. I love it! I have both circles, octagon, oval & skinny oval (my fave). Yvonne, you'll have to show her yours.
I also use my CM =E7utting system for just about everything. I have the square punches, too. I have two different ones and use them a lot for mosiac type embellishments a lot. I have some templates of paperdolls that I use a lot when I want to do heads but I also have a Sizzix paperdoll die. I really don't use my punches as much as I did in the begining. But I do enjoy punches.
Thanks Lori --- I finally got to check it out since my explorer was throwing a micky at running from a link grrrrrr..... oooo i like the ability to have rings like that especially if i didnt have to cut them out myself :P gr8 page too Shaz
Thanks everyone! I might see if the colluzzel (sp lol) has the size i need, and go from there. Bit wary about trying another *cuttery thing* after the shape cutter hoo haaaa (which is ok on paper tho!!!) lol
Might see if scrap store got one for me to play with first. And ty Ronni! Looking up a CM lady now :)
