April CCC progress?

How are you doing with the CCChallenge?

I've got 3 cards made using Jessica's suggestion of using a different shape. In case you missed the link for a suggestion here it is.

2) Out of the box - try making cards that aren't a basic rectangle! Here is a cute link for an idea -

I have made all of my cards already for this month's CCC. I used Jessica's suggestion to pull out a tool that you haven't used in a while. I bought a heat gun and embossing powder at least 5 to 6 years ago. I tried it once, made a huge mess and the image I was trying to embossed looked HORRIBLE. Over the years I have learned more but still was relucant to try it again. I even made Amanda do some embossing for my cards when we went to a card class, lol!

When I read Jessica's challenges for the month, I knew I should try to use my embossing stuff. I made five of these:

I even broke out one of my roller stamps that I hadn't used yet! I thinik the cards turned out really nice. The cards are the tri-fold pre-made vanilla cards from K&Co. On the inside fold I put a solid pattern paper and used the stampin' up roller on the outside fold. Thanks Jessica for the wonderful challenges each month. I have been using all kinds of old tools on my scrapbook pages too!

Love the card. I have that stamp set. I'll have to try the embossing.

Beautiful cards! I should get going on mine. Should be easy this weekend since there is 2" of snow on the ground here!!! (it was 70 last weekend!) So, I am in the mood for hot cocoa and the holidays.

I am glad you are enjoying the challenges. Lynne actually made the suggestions for these two, so I have to give credit where it's due. :)

I love embossing - and I love it even more that I have a heat gun (I used to use my stove).

Have a good weekend all!

I remember using my stove in the early 90's to heat emboss! Sometimes a card would be beautifully embossed and lightly toasted too. hahaha

I keep getting interupted in making my cards I have 2 done and 2 half done and 2 more to make to reach my goal. I'd also like to get my facinator out and actually use it!

What a great job Tammy! How awesome that you dusted all the embossing stuff. I see more embossing in your future! Hmmm I might just have to do some embossed cards.

Oh my, if I had to emboss with a stove... I would need to have a fire extinguisher close by. LOL

I remember when I was in school my Mom and I used an iron. It did ok but I am fairly certain it was my Mom's talent not mine that embossing turned out. ;o)

Great job Tammy :) I missed the original post but caught the link as I read through the posts. I love the stamp you used. I love embossing and I never understand why people are frightened of it.....have fun with your newly acquired skill.
