Deal Queen Moment

I don't usually do these things, but I was surfing around on the Craig's List web site and found someone selling some stamping supplies. They lived

15 minutes from me and the pictures of the items looked good. She was getting rid of 3 6 drawer plastic storage unit full of stamps and supplies for $100. I thought there had to be at least $100 in just rubber stamps or more. So, thought I'll do it if it's still available. Contacted the gal she still had them arranged P/U. She threw in another plastic container of paper and envelopes. Said she bought all the stuff and just never really did anything with them.

As I started going through the drawers my eyes got wider and wider and my mouth dropped further and further open. There is easily $500 plus dollars worth of supplies and rubber stamps. There was a drawer of about $100 worth of alcohol inks and supplies to use with them. I priced all that stuff last year when I took the class and never bought any. I'm going to be having SO much fun.

There was a whole drawer full of probably 25 Stampin' Up ink pads. I figured even if they were dried up I'd still get my money's worth. They weren't very moist, but when I opened the drawer below them there were all the colors of reinkers. I'm still floored. So, glad I took a chance and contacted the gal.

What a huge deal Lynne! I was about to suggest that even if the SU pads were dry, you could buy reinkers, unless they're the retired colors. Sounds like you definately got a huge deal there! Wowzers!

Wow! You lucky duck, you! :-)

A friend of mine is moving and had to pack up her craft room, so she sorted a bunch of stuff and had a sale last week--I thought I did pretty good with all the good stuff I got (she threw in a lot of extra stuff for nothing!) but man, you did good!!

OH WOW!!!! What an fantastic deal. have fun with your new finds. I got a deal on a box of clay molds and a pasta rolling thing. She also threw in all of the clay she had left over - all for $5. I figured it was worth it to be able to give it a try without the investment. This was from one of the local cheapcycle groups. Sandy

That is a great deal... just the pasta roller alone is worth $50 to $100 dollars.

You're kidding??? I never priced them. I loved the pumpkin set I got from Helen (I think) in the swap a while back and thought I might like to try doing some stuff in clay for embellishments. I figured $5 wasn't too much to lose if I ended up not liking it or having the time. Sandy
