Deb's Embellishment Box sign up

Ok, enough talk about one. Let's get one started! This box will be filled with various embellishments. There isn't a theme for this box, so any themed embellishment will be allowed. To get it started, I'm asking all participants to either mail me $5 worth of embellishments or $5 for me to go buy embellishments. If you desire to send more than that, please feel free to. If you send loose items, please be kind and put them in baggies, please. Embellishments can include buttons, eyelets, brads, snaps, charms, beads, fibers/ribbon/lace (all trimmed to 1 yard and put in baggies), label holders, safety pins, tags, clips, 3D stickers (i.e. Jolee's, etc), letter tiles/charms/beads/etc, sticker sheets (only full sheets). If I've missed any embellishments that you feel should be included, please let me know. Here's the other details:

Sign up deadline: August 25

Sign up instructions: Please send me an email to bsrdjr AT sbcglobal DOT net. I will also need your mailing address so I can work up a rotation list for the box.

Deadline to have your donations to me: Sept. 10 (if I get all donations sooner, the box will go out sooner)

Eligibility: You must be an active member of RCS for 3 months.

Items allowed: If I've missed any embellishments that you think should be included, please let me know. buttons eyelets brads snaps charms beads fibers/ribbon/lace (all trimmed to 1 yard and put in baggies) label holders safety pins tags clips 3D stickers (i.e. Jolee's, etc) letter tiles/charms/beads/etc sticker sheets (only full sheets)

Mailing address will be emailed out after the sign up deadline. My mailing address is also on the RCS snail mail list if you really really just can't wait until after Aug. 25 to send me your embellishments. Any other questions, just ask!

Forgot one tiny detail about the embellishment box....oops. I'm hoping everyone already had this figured out, too. But, just in case, when the embellishment box reaches you, take out what you want, but replace them with the same number of items. It doesn't have to be buttons for buttons, just the same number of items. If you take out 10 things (5 brads and 5 eyelets for instance), simply add 10 items to the box, even if it's 10 buttons. Also, one more thing I forgot. Please, send the box on within a week of when you receive it. I understand things sometimes happen, so if something does happen to prevent you from sending it on, please let me know.

Ok, I think that's all I forgot. Don't worry, if you sign up, you'll get all this again in an email. LOL

One more thing we should consider. This is a group box, so like the old scrapbox, the same posting requirements should be put in place. You get it, you let the group know, you take things out and put them in, you let us all know what you took out and what you put in, and you also should post who is getting it next as well as emailing that person to make sure that they will be home and available to receive the box and quickly go through it. Because the exact timing of when the box will actually get to you is rather vague, it is sometimes a bad time for the next person on the list. In that case the person can either get it after the person below him or her or be put at the end of the list.

So far, I've got sign ups from the following.

Linda Irene Mel K Melissa

There's still plenty of time to sign up! If you've sent me a sign up email, and your name is not listed, please email again. I try to catch the non-spam emails, but sometimes they slip through anyways.

Well, I thought I had emailed, but I don't find it in my "sent mail" so I'll try this.

Please sign me up!

Thanks,

Jessica

PS - oh, and Melissa and I live fairly close to each other, and see eachother somewhat regularly, maybe we can save some postage by one of us giving it to the other.

Deb - just to make sure I am clear - I live close to Melissa in Seattle. I am sure Mel K is a great person, but I don't know her as well. :)

Thanks!

Good point, Jessica... I think a handoff from Washington to Georgia would be a bit of a reach!

Y'know, this embellishment box swap can be one heck of an enabler. I just got back from a round of LSS's, and I frequently found myself standing in front of a rack of stuff, with the following conversation running in my head: "Oh, this is so cute!" "But it won't go with anything I'm working on. What would I do with it?" "Well, maybe I can't use it, but it would go great in the Embellishment box! I'm gonna buy it!" Some of this stuff goes into the starter batch, in the mail tomorrow. The rest I'm gonna hold onto until the box gets to me (by then the stash should be somewhat larger). I'm looking forward to seeing the box!

Glad I could be of service. LOL I was hunting for chocolate chip, marshmallow, or ice cream (scoops - no cones) embellishments and kept seeing all kinds of neat things that would go great in the embellishment box. But....I was a good girl and didn't buy a darn thing. (couldn't find any chocolate chip, marshmallow, or ice cream embellishments). But....don't panic, it's not time to take away my FLASS badge. I redeemed myself by surfing ebay and put a bid on a box of 800 brads. I feel better now!

Hi, Melissa in Seattle here.

Yes, it is confusing. There is actually another Melissa lurking here too. I AM the Melissa currently mentioned. However, I'd prefer to b on the opposite end of the embellishment box as Jessica. If that means she gets it Firstish and she gets it Lastish that'd be fine by me.

Thanks!

Melissa

I'm getting excited, how about you? I now have sign ups from the following...

Linda Irene Mel K Melissa Jessica Jacqui Sandy

There's still time to sign up! For those already signed up, and those that will sign up (hint hint!! LOL), I need you to email me the following:

Name: Snail mail address: (if you haven't already) Phone number: Any dates you know you'll be unable to receive the box:

Actually, it's easy to confuse me. Just ask my family! LOL I'll do what I can to make it work out where Melissa & Jessica are at opposite ends. The box will fit in a flat rate priority box, so the shipping will be a flat rate for everybody. Hope that makes sense!
