dimensional snow question

Sep 25, 2007 10 Replies

Hi.

I want to know if I used an ink with the dimensional snow do you think it would make it useless? I want to make it look like chocolate icing.

Or do you guys have a better idea.

Kate

Were you going to mix it in with the snow or color it after you put it on the paper? I have never used it, so I don't know what it would look like. You might try a small batch and see how it works.

by not seeing this... how about this...

put your dimensional snow how you want it on a piece of transperency plastic.... let it dry, then spray paint it or paint with regular paint.... then it should peel off and be able to glue to your card. Just a thought... never seen the stuff so don't know.

It's the stuff I used on the cupcake card.

I've never heard of this stuff. Sounds interesting. Where did you find it at.

You're welcome.

It is kindof fun and you need to use the back of a PLASTIC spoon or a paint palette. then let it dry for 24 hours (a heat gun will NOT speed up the process).

Now that Michaels and AC moore are starting to have xmas seasonal out you can check there. There is the plain dimensional snow and glitter dimensional snow. I prefer the glitter one as I like how it bounces the light around. I also have the plain for my snow man cards. It runs about $1.50-$3.00 depending on the maker. I use Aileen's as it is archivally safe.

When I made the winter 4 season's card I wish I had let the ink dry on the rubber stamped image as it bled through a little. Not in a good way, which actually gives me an idea about changing the color of the snow.

Kate, When I went to Joanns.com to see if they sold the product this is what it said about changing the color:

"White, light and fluffy medium looks like fresh fallen snow on most non-fabric surfaces. Can be tinted with any acrylic paint. Glitter snow has a slight iridescent sparkle. Snow dries flexible and spongy, not hard. Non-yellowing formula."

Hope that helps. Sandy
